13Feb26: Sundown.Watching the colors fade. Noticed a crow hurrying home, the last bird in the darkening sky. One tenth of a second later the song playing went,”the evening crows are in flight, the messengers forlorn”*.
In an instant I was catapulted out of the ditch, frown I’ve worn all day flying off as I did.
*The song is called “The Fox Has Gone To Ground” by The Bamboo Shoot (1968).
The quoted above was the only line mentioned by the original band members in the Tube’s comment section. I’ve owned the compilation album the song’s included in for 4 decades (!), but it was only a few hours prior found it on YT.
